Last Lecture Series: Escape Passivity, Engage Pursuit

Join the Centennial Institute for our upcoming Last Lecture event with Dr. Matt Jones, Associate Professor of New Testament Studies.
Life is way too precious to spend the time we have been granted to be passive, apathetic, indifferent, and idle. The Triune God not only wants us to experience life but also to seek intentional, thoughtful, and active lives. This “Last Lecture” will challenge us to consider three observations about life in the 21st century. Dr. Jones will challenge us to examine whether we are living a life worthy of the gift we have been given.

About Dr. Matt Jones
Dr. Matt Jones’ experience as a student at a Christian Liberal Arts institution was transformational for his faith, life, and future. Many of those transforming moments occurred as a result of staff and faculty investment in and outside of the classroom. Realizing the roles they had in his life served as an impetus to teach traditional undergraduate students. As a result, not only does Dr. Jones have the opportunity to teach, engage, and learn alongside these students, but he also has the chance to mentor multiple students through intentional relationships for the sake of Christ.
Jones completed his Ph.D. by examining the humanity of Jesus in Matthew and serves with Summit Ministries as a co-host for the Upside-Down Parenting podcast and faculty-in-residence. When not serving students, teaching, or engaging in community and church activities, he enjoys spending time with his amazing wife, Cathy, and his young adult children, Hannah, Tyler, and Mackenzie. If there’s any time remaining, Dr. Jones likes to run and play golf.
