Centennial Institute supports Prop 115 to end late-term abortion in Colorado

LAKEWOOD, Col. — Centennial Institute, Colorado Christian University’s (CCU) public policy think tank, is actively supporting Proposition 115, a November ballot initiative to end late-term abortion in Colorado. Mustering state-wide support for Prop 115 is a top priority for the Institute. It is a Strategic Prioirty of CCU to impact the culture in support of the sanctity of life, and the University has taken part in the March for Life since 2017. This January, nearly 200 CCU students co-led the 2020 March for Life in Washington, D.C.

“The fact that Colorado still allows the barbaric practice of killing viable children is unacceptable. Over 280 children lose their lives in Colorado each year as a result of these procedures,” said Jeff Hunt, director of the Centennial Institute. “These children can feel pain and live outside the womb. A vast majority of Americans support restrictions on late-term abortion. It’s time for Colorado to enact these common-sense policies.”

In 1967, Colorado became the first state to lift restrictions on abortion and is currently one of seven states that allow abortions to be performed at any time during pregnancy. Proposition 115 would prohibit abortions after 22 weeks, with an exception for the life of the mother.
