Faith and Freedom Speaker Series: Christianity and the Spirit of 1776

April 20 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join the National Endowment for the Humanities and Centennial Institute for the Faith and Freedom Speaker Series: Christianity and the Spirit of 1776, featuring Dr. Vincent Phillip Muñoz .

What Should We Celebrate When We Celebrate the Fourth of July? Dr. Muñoz will explore what he calls “the three revolutions of 1776.” The American Founding Fathers’ political philosophy adopted: (1) a new understanding of political authority, (2) a new conception of the purposes of government, and (3) a new formulation of the proper relationship between church and state. An award-winning teacher and a popular lecturer, Professor Muñoz’s talk will be accessible and of interest to all who seek to learn more about the Declaration of Independence and the ideas that animated the American Founding Fathers.
