Dr. Bush White served as the director of Graduate Education Programs in the School of Education Professions at the College of Adult and Graduate Studies from 2010 until September 1st, 2023. He started his education in an international setting, having moved to Tripoli, Libya with his parents where he began his schooling. During his time there, his family had many adventures traveling and vacationing in Italy, France, and the Netherlands. They also had to evacuate from Tripoli to England for six weeks during the Suez Crisis. Later, his family moved to Brisbane, Australia, where he completed his Grammar school and junior high school years before returning to the United States. Due to his early years in foreign countries, He has developed a strong sense of patriotism. He believes that, despite its flaws, the United States is the best place to live.

 

Dr. White earned his degree in History from Western State College and completed his master’s degree in Community and Adult Education from Colorado State University. He obtained his Doctor of Education Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. White began his teaching career in a small rural town in eastern Colorado, where he taught history. He then moved to Fairplay, Colorado, where he worked as a history and art teacher, and managed the district’s winter sports program. This led him to become a principal in a small eastern Colorado town. He finished his administrative career in 2002 and went on to work at the Colorado Department of Education where he wrote education policy for Colorado schools and districts.

 

Dr. White has extensive experience in presenting at conferences, both at the state and federal level, on the implementation of key policies. In addition, he has also presented at a joint Science Foundation and KOSEF conference held in Seoul, South Korea. Dr. White has worked on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Initiative which focuses on faith-based alternative high schools. He enjoys working with people from different cultures around the world. Dr. White has been happily married to Ginny for almost fifty years and is blessed with two adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.
