With the election in just a few weeks, the very future of conservatism is a hot topic of discussion. Join us to hear Dr. Francis Beckwith, the newest Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy at the University of Colorado for the 2016-17 academic year.
Dr. Beckwith holds five earned degrees including the MA and PhD in philosophy from Fordham University and the Master of Juridical Studies (in law) from the Washington University School of Law, St. Louis. He has authored over a dozen books including Taking Rites Seriously: Law, Politics, and the Reasonableness of Faith and Defending Life: A Moral and Legal Case Against Abortion Choice, both published by Cambridge University Press. He has published over 100 academic articles, book chapters, critical reviews, and reference-work entries in a variety of publications across a diversity of disciplines. He has held visiting faculty appointments at Princeton University, where served as a 2002-2003 Madison Research Fellow in the Department of Politics, and the University of Notre Dame, where he was the 2008-2009 Mary Ann Remick Senior Visiting Fellow in the Notre Dame Center for Ethics & Culture.
